Sitges sits thirty-five kilometres south of Barcelona on a sun-bleached stretch of the Mediterranean, where seventeen beaches unfold between the headlands of two protected natural parks — Garraf and Foix. Steep whitewashed lanes climb from the seafront promenade toward the silhouette of Sant Bartomeu i Santa Tecla, the seventeenth-century church that has crowned the town's skyline for generations.

Once a fishing village, Sitges has long drawn artists, collectors and travellers in equal measure. Its character today is shaped by modernist mansions, sun-drenched terraces and tucked-away galleries, by century-old patisseries that share the street with Michelin dining rooms, and by an unhurried cosmopolitanism that remains rare so close to a major capital. Mild weather year-round, fast rail and motorway links to Barcelona and El Prat airport, and a famously open creative atmosphere make Sitges the discreet coastal counterpart to city living in Catalonia.

How your rental experience with VDB works

Move-in dates are scheduled at signing. Keys are handed over once the security deposit and first month's rent have been received. We sign a handover protocol with photographs and inventory on arrival so the condition of the home is recorded transparently from day one.

Most of our properties include a private parking space u2014 additional spaces, motorcycle bays and storage rooms are listed separately when available. Any extras are leased on the same monthly cycle as the apartment and itemised in the contract.

Monthly rent is exclusive of utilities (electricity, gas, water, internet) and community fees unless otherwise stated. Local taxes (IBI, refuse collection) are settled by the owner. We share an itemised cost estimate before you sign so there are no surprises at move-in.

Long-term contracts follow the Spanish LAU framework: five-year automatic renewals by default for individual tenants. Short-term agreements can be extended by mutual agreement, with a renewal proposal sent 60 days before the current term ends.

Two months of rent are required as guarantee: one as legal fianza (held by INCASOL) and one as additional guarantee, returned at lease end after the inventory check. Rent is paid by SEPA direct debit on the first business day of each month.
